Bay Of Island Hockey began in 1947 when life member Phil Byers (known as Chippy) bought the game to life at Lindvart Park in Kaikohe. Hockey is still strong in the north and is now experiencing the wonderful game of hockey on its turf established in 2008. In 2014 Top Energy generated and funded along side FNDC the lighting project which enabled evening play and the turf was named “The Kaikohe Top Energy Hockey Turf”

We encourage players to come along and have fun, our emphasis is on enjoyment, fair play, social atmosphere and skill development/maintenance.
If you have a young hockey star wanting give it a go or join a team, the below schools have hockey teams running in our current competition.
